Peeka- boo bag

One of the first ideas I had for EDC, before I had any of my outfits planned at all, was a clear backpack. Rummaging in a bag is always difficult when they are packed to the brim with the essentials, and fumbling around in a dark crowd is the last thing I want to worry about. I figure it will be way easier and pretty cool to make a see through bag to locate my stuff easier in the middle of all the hustle and bustle.

For this project I happened to have a simple pattern to go use; It took me about a day to complete. I’m not in love with the straps but I’m happy I attached them correctly ( there was no ” strap attaching guide “).

I often buy unnecessary things on the off chance I might have a need for them one day, and this was the case for these two pink zippers used here. They were originally the same size, but this pattern called for a 22 in and an 18 inch zipper. Luckily I was taught a neat technique to shorten a zipper when you’re in a pinch, that’s what was done with this zipper pocket.

I hope it holds together; the pattern called for interfacing on multiple pieces, but adding that would defeat the purpose completely of using clear plastic. I’m eager to make another bag with actual fabric to see how the two compare.
